Things I learned (and did) today: 1. There is a little keyhole in the side of the cliff on the east side of the island of Capri where you have to lay down flat in a small wooden boat in order to float through the tiny opening and come into a big cave where the sun shines through the water below the keyhole and lights up the cave with a stunning Cerulean blue glow. It is so beautiful I am teary just telling you about it. 2. There is a chairlift in the village of Capri that takes you to the highest point of the island with spectacular views of the island, of Sorrento across the bay, Naples, Mount Vesuvius and ships all around the island. Then you can hike two and a half miles back down to the village and have pistachio Gelato while dangling your feet in the warm Mediterranean water. 3. Lemons are lifeblood here, and delicious in all forms including Lemoncello Spritz, lemon basil fettuccine and lemon infused olive oil. As though that's not enough, this is the home of Caprese deliciousness and now I'm going to go home and tell my garden tomatoes to be better. 4. Italians are beautiful humans full of kindness and joy and they all just feel like family.
